- Any site or part of a site, on which a rally is held, will be for the exclusive use of Caravan & Motorhome Club member’s caravans and motorhomes. Attendance at the site and/or payment of the rally fee is acceptance by a member of these rules.
- Authority for the conduct of a rally is held by the Rally Marshal or his deputy.
- ALL RALLIES will start at 2.00pm on Friday unless otherwise stated in the Rally Book, or as instructed by the Rally Marshals.
- All members must report to the Rally Marshal upon arrival at the site before pitching their caravan or motorhome. A member must be prepared to produce their CAMC membership card to the Rally Marshal or their deputy.
- Each caravan or motorhome and towing vehicle must be placed on the pitch indicated by the Rally Marshal or their deputy.
- ALL CARAVANS & MOTORHOMES MUST BE PITCHED TO ALLOW AT LEAST 6 METERS FROM THE SIDE WALL OF ONE CARAVAN/MOTORHOME TO THE NEXT. Members violating this rule will be asked to move. Motor vehicles should be parked on the off side of the caravan. This rule minimises fire hazard and respects a neighbour’s pitch. All caravans and motorhomes must carry a fire extinguisher. A fire bucket containing water must be displayed at the front of the outfit.
- You may not reserve more than one pitch unless approved, in advance, by the Rally Marshal.
- THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE RALLY FIELD IS WALKING PACE OR FIVE MILES AN HOUR. Only fully licensed drivers are allowed to drive on the rally site.
- Dogs must be on leads or tethered on a lead not exceeding eight feet in length and tethered not more than two feet from any part of the caravan/motorhome. All dogs must be exercised away from the caravans/motorhomes. Please ensure you clean up after your dog. Well behaved animals are usually allowed in halls (with hall owners permission) and shelters when no food is being served. Rally Marshals may ask you to leave if there becomes a valid problem
- Members must make provision to store and take home all dry and wet refuse. Empty only chemical toilets in the pit provided. Chemical toilets must not be filled or washed out near drinking water supplies.
- Noise must be kept to a reasonable minimum and cease at 11pm. Music and parties must not disturb neighbouring members.
- The use of guns, catapults and all weapons is prohibited.
- Riding bicycles & scooters, flying kites and model aircraft, as well as ball games is not permitted among or close to caravans/motorhomes. Parents will be held responsible for any damaged incurred.
Drones are banned from the rally field and any centre event also from any club site without prior agreement from Head Office. Any unauthorised use by members will face disciplinary action. - To book on a rally:
(a) Book directly through our fully secure web site, by clicking on the relevant rally, then click on the ”book now” button. The booking form will display and should be completed and submitted. The Marshal will acknowledge your booking and for some rallies where a deposit is required, advise the amount to be forwarded to secure the booking.
(b) Deliver a completed booking slip to the Rally Marshal either by post or by hand. - Rally Booking Terms and Conditions. Members who cancel or do not arrive must pay £2 for weekend rallies or a calculated amount to cover any costs incurred prior to the rally. This includes social tickets if they cannot be sold to other ralliers on a waiting list. This will be collected from members on subsequent rallies.
(a) If you cancel a rally due to bereavement of a family member the centre will reimburse a full refund.
(b) Any booked non-attendance may be reimbursed either all or partial refund, after consideration by the Committee, for exceptional circumstances only. Applications should be made to the committee by letter only. (this will be paid from Centre funds).
(c) If the centre cancels a rally then all money will be refunded.
It should be appreciated that for special rallies where food and or entertainment has been provided that the money has already been spent on their behalf and they have accepted to pay any expense incurred on their original booking form. - A plain Red or Yellow Flag flown from the flagpole indicates that a Rally Marshal is restricting vehicle movement on the site. Vehicles must not be moved without a marshal’s permission. Other Centres including the Caravan Club may use a Yellow Flag.
- If a tow is accepted, it is on the understanding that the owner or driver of the towing vehicle shall not be held responsible for any damage incurred. Persons accepting a tow from a 4X4 vehicle do so entirely at their own risk. Members will be expected to offer £1.00 per tow for this service.
- At the end of a rally, members caravans/motorhomes must be removed from the site unless prior arrangements have been made with the landowner by the Rally Marshal, taking due awareness of any planning regulations.
- Members are advised to carry their medical cards.
- Proposed raffles MUST receive prior permission from the Committee.
- Where a licensed bar is provided at a social event members are NOT allowed to take their own drinks.
- Children of 16 years of age and over will be classed as adults at social events.
- Social events organised by Marshals shall be for members and their families attending the rally. Visitors to the rally may attend the social subject to the Rally Marshal's discretion. Entertainers and their families are exempt from this rule. This rule does not apply to Christmas and New Year rallies.
- Pup tents (2 person) are permitted, one per unit, but MUST be sited with the approval and guidance of the Rally Marshal.
- The use of generators will be restricted to the hours of 10.00am to 8.00pm (for a 2 hour period only in any one day) only when a responsible adult is in attendance. The exception to this rule is on medical grounds and rally events with the agreement of the Rally Marshal. Members using generators should be aware of the disturbance to other ralliers.
- Bad behaviour will not be tolerated, and offenders whether adults or children will be asked to leave the venue.
- To guarantee a rally plaque, bookings for weekend and holiday rallies must be made 15 working days prior to rally.
- Gas heaters in marquees, gazebo’s or any canvas structures are not to be permitted due to carbon monoxide fumes being emitted and also due to the safety aspect of concentrated heat rising causing localised heating and therefore a fire risk. It is suggested that electric heaters are used with one unit per 3kw feed cable and an RCD breaker is used. Protect heater from rain, tent fabric etc.; and do not leave unattended.
Any ralliers found to be in breach of any Centre Rule may be reported to the Committee by the Rally Marshal, or other Committee Member. The Committee will then review the matter and agree upon a suitable course of action. These rules are supplementary to the obligation which all members undertake on joining the Club which includes observation of the Caravan Code and the Country Code. In the variance these rules shall apply.
